The fabulous location of the Chocolate Museum enables you to begin your celebration with a welcome outside on our Rhine terrace or inside right next to the golden chocolate fountain. Both sites provide you with a picturesque view of the impressive Cologne Cathedral.

Civil Wedding

The historic city hall in the old town of Cologne is located within walking distance to us. Along the scenic Rhine waterfront you can reach the Chocolate Museum in a few minutes ,by walking, bicycle rickshaws, horse-drawn carriage, in a limousine or with the Chocolate Express, a small historic train on wheels, in which your guests can find room, too. We are also happy to await your guests in front of the city hall with a praline welcome.

The rooftop gallery of the Bel Etage is also a room for civil weddings. As part of your wedding celebration in the Chocolate Museum you can marry right here from Thursdays to Saturdays.*

* For a mere wedding without a following wedding celebration we charge an using fee of 850,- € plus the municipal fee. This arrangement is only possible on Thursdays.

Marry on a Sunday

A wedding on a Sunday offers a lot of advantages. It is easier to make a reservation for the desired date, especially if you book your date less than one year in advance. Also most of the service providers still have capacities that day.

Sundays are often more family friendly - for children and grandparents equally. Instead of partying into the early hours, the celebration just begins earlier. The theologian Jochen Jülicher with his team and the two former registrars Diana and Sven Christ know exactly the way to perform a wonderful ceremony.
